Mr Simon Nding’o has been elected the Eastern Regional Chairman of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) following a delegates’ vote involving 21 branches across the region.
In the same elections, Nding’o secured another major victory after being re-elected as the Kitui KNUT Executive Secretary for a third consecutive term, reaffirming his strong influence within the teachers’ union in the county.
Meanwhile, Onesmus Nzau from Mwingi was elected as the KNUT Kitui County Chairman, taking over leadership of the local branch.
The position of Treasurer went to Mr. Matuku from Kitui South, completing the new lineup of officials expected to steer KNUT affairs in the region.
The elections mark a significant moment for KNUT leadership in Eastern Kenya, with leaders pledging to champion teachers’ welfare and strengthen union operations.
