Kitui County played host to a high-profile political gathering on Wednesday as Kalonzo Musyoka led a delegation of opposition leaders to Katutu Market in Kitui West.
The event drew a large crowd of residents and local leaders, with Kitui Governor Julius Malombe joining the former Vice President alongside Rigathi Gachagua, Eugene Wamalwa, and Justin Muturi.
The leaders are touring Kitui County for a two-day engagement aimed at strengthening opposition unity and connecting with grassroots supporters. During the Katutu meeting, they addressed residents on key political and development issues affecting the region.
Also present at the gathering were Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani, Kitui Woman Representative Irene Kasalu, and Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio Wambua.
Members of Parliament in attendance included Eng. Malili Nzengu, Mwalika Mboni, and Vethi Nyenze, alongside other leaders such as Millicent Omanga. A number of aspiring MPs and MCAs from across the county also turned up, signaling growing political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The tour continues across different parts of Kitui County, with leaders expected to hold further public engagements as they consolidate support and outline their political agenda.
