Mwakini Dispensary Gets Major Boost as Laboratory Project Is Handed Over
Mwakini Dispensary in Kanyonyoo village has received a major healthcare boost following the official handover of a newly completed laboratory, renovations, and water storage facilities to the local community.
Yatta/Kwavonza Ward MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o earlier today presided over the project handover at Mwakini, marking the completion of the construction of a modern laboratory room, electrical installation, renovations at the facility, and delivery of two 10,000-litre water tanks.
The project is expected to significantly improve healthcare services at the dispensary by enhancing diagnostic capacity, ensuring reliable electricity, and improving water availability for both patients and staff.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Hon. Nding’o said the development reflects his continued commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure at the grassroots and ensuring residents access quality medical services closer to home.
The event was attended by Kitui Rural Conservancy Sub-County Administrator (KRC SCA) Mr. Samuel Wambua, Kanyonyoo Village Administrator Ibrahim Volisi, KRC sub-county engineers, and representatives from the Mwakini community.
Residents welcomed the project, noting that the new laboratory and improved facilities will reduce the need to travel long distances for medical tests and treatment while enhancing service delivery at Mwakini Dispensary.
