Kitui County Invites Public to Participate in FY 2026/2027 Budget Planning
The County Government of Kitui has invited members of the public and stakeholders to participate in the preparation of the FY 2026/2027 County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) through a public participation forum set for February 17, 2026.
In a notice issued by the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Revenue Management, residents, civil society groups, private sector players, state agencies and all interested stakeholders are encouraged to submit their views and proposals to help shape the county’s budget priorities for the upcoming financial year.
The public participation forum will be held at Kefri Centre in Kitui Town starting 10:00am on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
The county treasury, as required under Section 117(1) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, is mandated to prepare and submit the Fiscal Strategy Paper to the County Executive Committee and later to the County Assembly by February 28 each year.
According to the notice, the draft FY 2026/2027 Fiscal Strategy Paper is available on the Kitui County Government website, and members of the public can review it and submit memoranda, comments and proposals for consideration.
Submissions can be delivered to the Office of the Chief Officer for Economic Planning and Budgeting at the County Treasury, any sub-county or ward office, or sent via email to planning@kitui.go.ke on or before February 17, 2026.
The county government emphasized that public participation is key to ensuring transparency, accountability and inclusive planning in the budgeting process.
