Deputy Speaker of the Kitui County Assembly and MCA for Kyangwithya West, Hon. Christopher Nzioka Nzilu, by Tuesday spread festive cheer after sharing food donations with several Self Help Groups, elderly residents of Kyangwithya West Ward and all the village elders from all the 4 locations in the said Ward
During the well-attended event, over 700 residents benefited after each person received 2 kilograms of wheat flour. The annual initiative has become a tradition for Hon. Nzilu, who has consistently used the festive season to give back to his constituents and vulnerable members of the community.
Speaking during the exercise, residents praised the MCA for his inclusive and people-centered leadership, noting that his development-oriented approach has gone beyond Kyangwithya West Ward. They cited his accessibility, support for the elderly, and commitment to community welfare as key reasons for their admiration.
In a strong show of confidence, locals called on Hon. Nzilu to contest for the Kitui Central parliamentary seat in the next general election. They urged him to extend his campaign beyond Kyangwithya West and seek support in other wards within the constituency.
“Kyangwithya West alone has more than 17,000 registered voters. We are ready to support him fully and mobilize votes across Kitui Central because he has proven his leadership capacity,” said one elder.
Residents affirmed that they would stand with Hon. Nzilu “to the last man,” describing him as a leader who has demonstrated vision, humility, and service beyond ward-level politics.
The call adds to growing speculation about Hon. Nzilu’s political future, as grassroots support continues to build around his leadership record and community engagement.
