Former Kitui senatorial candidate Stephen Kilonzo has officially announced his intention to contest the Kitui Central Parliamentary seat on a Wiper Democratic Movement ticket. Kilonzo, who has been a prominent political figure in Kitui County, said he is ready to bring transformative leadership and a fresh development agenda to the constituency.
Speaking exclusively with TCD digital senior editor over the weekend, Kilonzo expressed confidence in his track record and experience, noting that his past campaigns and community engagements have positioned him well to understand the needs of Kitui Central residents. He emphasized that his decision to run is driven by public demand and a commitment to service delivery.
Kilonzo pledged to prioritize youth empowerment, job creation, and economic revitalization, saying Kitui Central deserves a leader who is dedicated, accessible, and development-oriented. He also highlighted education, water access, and improved healthcare as key pillars of his manifesto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The former senatorial hopeful reaffirmed his loyalty to the Wiper Party, praising its leadership under Kalonzo Musyoka and expressing confidence that the party remains the strongest political force in Kitui County. He urged residents to rally behind his bid, promising to champion their aspirations both locally and nationally.
