
On February 18, 2026 — Kitui Deputy Governor Wambua Kanani praised Governor Dr. Julius Malombe for his steadfast commitment to constitutionalism and stable governance, saying his leadership continues to steer the county toward progress and unity.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed senior county officers at the Governor’s Office, the Deputy Governor noted that the county administration remains anchored on the principles of the 2010 Constitution and people-centered development.
“Our Governor, Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, has consistently upheld our 2010 Constitution, steering the County towards stability for the betterment of our people,” said Kanani.
The ceremony saw Agnes Mulewa take oath as County Secretary, Timothy Kyalo sworn in as County Attorney, and Okumu assume office as Secretary to the County Public Service Board.
The appointments mark a significant step in strengthening the administrative and legal framework of Kitui County, with county leaders expressing confidence that the new team will enhance service delivery, transparency, and accountability.
Deputy Governor Kanani urged the newly sworn-in officers to uphold integrity and professionalism in their respective roles, emphasizing that effective public service is key to accelerating development across the county.
