Kitui County Assembly Gazettes Special Sitting to Debate Vetting of Key County Nominees

The Speaker of the County Assembly of Kitui, Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, has gazetted Monday, 26th and Tuesday, 27th January 2026 as dates for a Special Sitting of the County Assembly. The sittings will commence at 9:00 a.m., in accordance with Gazette Notice No. 826 and pursuant to Standing Order No. 26(3) of the County Assembly of Kitui Standing Orders.

According to the gazette notice, the Special Sitting will be convened to transact specific business outlined in the notice, with a key agenda item being the debate on the report on the vetting of nominees for three critical county positions: County Secretary, County Attorney, and Secretary to the County Public Service Board.

The debate on the vetting report is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, and will be live-streamed on the official County Assembly social media platforms starting at 9:00 a.m. This move is aimed at enhancing transparency and public participation in the countyโ€™s governance processes.

The appointments are expected to play a significant role in shaping the administrative and legal framework of the county government, making the upcoming Special Sitting a key milestone in Kitui Countyโ€™s governance calendar.
