Over 20,000 Fans Turn Up for 23rd Annual Charles Nguna Football Tournament in Migwani

Over 20,000 football fans on Sunday thronged Migwani town in Mwingi West Constituency to witness the 23rd edition of the annual Charles Nguna Football Tournament, in what was described as a sea of humanity.

The highly anticipated sporting event drew teams, youths, community leaders, and football enthusiasts from across Mwingi West and neighbouring areas, transforming Migwani into a hive of activity as fans turned up in large numbers to cheer their favourite teams.

The tournament, which has grown into one of the biggest grassroots sports events in Kitui County, continues to play a key role in nurturing young talent, promoting unity, and providing a platform for youth engagement through sports.

Political observers noted that the massive turnout once again underscored the strong grassroots support enjoyed by Mwingi West Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Nguna, with residents citing his consistent support for sports development and youth empowerment in the constituency.

Speaking during the event, leaders and residents lauded the tournament for its longevity and impact, noting that it has become a unifying annual tradition that brings together people from all walks of life, further cementing Hon. Ngunaโ€™s dominance and popularity in Mwingi West politics.
