Renowned university lecturer and ICT specialist Rev. Wilson Muange Musyoka, PhD (Cand.), has officially joined the Kitui East parliamentary race ahead of the 2027 General Election. The respected academic and Anglican priest made his intentions public during a community gathering held on New Year’s Eve, where he engaged residents on his vision and leadership agenda for the constituency.
The well-attended meeting brought together local leaders, youth, professionals, and community members, with Rev. Musyoka outlining a clear road map for his parliamentary bid. He emphasized people-centered leadership, integrity, and innovation as the pillars that will guide his campaign, noting that Kitui East deserves transformative leadership grounded in knowledge, faith, and service.
Rev. Musyoka is a decorated university don currently associated with Machakos University and St. Paul’s University, where he has served in various academic and administrative capacities for over a decade. An accomplished Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) expert, he brings more than ten years of experience in ICT infrastructure development, policy formulation, data protection, cybersecurity, and systems management.
Beyond academia, Rev. Musyoka has held key leadership roles, including serving as a board member at the Kitui County Assembly Service Board (KCASB) and Chairman of the Board of Management at Major Muluvi Secondary School in Kangweni, Kitui. In 2025, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit as a Data Protection Officer, further strengthening his credentials in governance and digital security.
Ordained as a priest of the Anglican Church of Kenya in December 2024 after serving as a deacon, Rev. Musyoka says his leadership philosophy is anchored in faith-based values. He has consistently advocated for bridging the gap between faith and technology by equipping youth and leaders with digital skills while upholding integrity, ethics, and Christian values.
At St. Paul’s University, Rev. Musyoka has been instrumental in advancing academic quality and innovation. His notable achievements include spearheading self-assessment reviews for ICT programs, establishing a Cisco Networking Academy, linking students to Ajira Digital opportunities, and coordinating quality assurance processes that supported accreditation and curriculum development.
As he enters the Kitui East MP race, Rev. Wilson Muange Musyoka positions himself as a reform-minded leader focused on youth empowerment, digital transformation, good governance, and community development. His entry into politics is expected to reshape the race, with many observers viewing his blend of academic excellence, professional experience, and faith-driven leadership as a unique proposition for the constituency.
