President Ruto Assures Kitui South of Major Road Upgrade

President William Ruto has recognized the tireless efforts of Kitui South Member of Parliament, Dr. Racheal Nyamai, in advocating for development within her constituency. The Head of State assured residents that the Ikutha–Kanziko–Mutha–Mutomo road will soon be upgraded to bitumen standards, revealing that the contractor for the project has already been identified.

Speaking during the 2025 Mashujaa Day national celebrations held at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui Town, President Ruto reaffirmed his government’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects in Kitui County. He emphasized that his administration is focused on ensuring equitable development across all regions.

The President further announced that he will return to Kitui in the coming weeks for a comprehensive development tour, aimed at inspecting and launching several key projects. He noted that Kitui County remains a vital part of the national development agenda and will not be left behind in his government’s transformative plans.

President Ruto’s remarks were received with excitement by Kitui residents, who expressed optimism that the long-awaited road upgrade will boost trade, ease transport, and open up economic opportunities across Kitui South.
