Opposition leaders led by Kalonzo Musyoka on Wednesday held a high-profile political tour in Kitui West, drawing a large crowd as they intensified their engagement in Kitui County.

Among those accompanying Kalonzo was Mark Nding’o, alongside key opposition figures including Rigathi Gachagua, Justin Muturi, and Eugene Wamalwa. Local leaders present included Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, Kitui Woman Representative Irene Kasalu, Kitui West MP Edith Nyenze, and Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu.

The leaders are in Kitui County for a two-day tour aimed at consolidating opposition support in the region.

Speaking during the event, Kalonzo criticized the ongoing voter registration process, warning that the opposition would not tolerate alleged interference by officials from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. He accused some senior officials of undermining the exercise and called for transparency and fairness.

The tour is expected to continue across different parts of the county as the opposition seeks to strengthen its grassroots networks ahead of future political contests.
