Kitui Deputy Speaker who Serves as Kyangwithya west MCA and Incoming Kitui Central MP Hon. Christopher Nzilu has called for the escalation of the ongoing voter registration exercise in the constituency, urging residents to take advantage of the opportunity to secure their voting rights ahead of the next general election cycle.
Speaking amid the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) mass voter registration drive, Nzilu emphasized the need for increased awareness and mobilization, noting that a higher voter turnout begins with a strong registration process. He encouraged youth and first-time voters in particular to turn up in large numbers at designated polling centres.
His remarks come as the voter registration campaign runs from March 30 to April 28, 2026, under the theme “Every Citizen Counts.” Nzilu reiterated that active participation in the process is key to strengthening democracy and ensuring the voices of Kitui Central residents are fully represented.
The legislator further called on local leaders, community groups, and stakeholders to support the initiative by spreading awareness and facilitating access to registration centres, especially in remote areas, to ensure no eligible voter is left behind.
