Mwingi West Member of Parliament, Charles Nguna, has welcomed opposition leaders to the constituency, assuring them of freedom of movement and speech. However, the legislator emphasized the need for leaders to conduct themselves with decorum while engaging with residents. Speaking exclusively with TCD DIGITAL, Nguna noted that Mwingi West remains peaceful and open to all leaders regardless of political affiliation.
The MP underscored that the people of Mwingi West value peace and tranquility, urging visiting politicians to respect the community’s harmony. He cautioned against incitement or divisive rhetoric that could disrupt coexistence among residents. According to Nguna, political engagements should be carried out in a manner that promotes unity rather than conflict.
Nguna further called on leaders across the political divide to shift focus from ethnic-based politics to development-oriented agendas. He stressed that wananchi are more concerned with tangible progress such as infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment. The MP concluded by urging all leaders to champion policies that uplift livelihoods and foster sustainable development in the region.
