The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party has announced the removal of several leaders from its coalition organs after a joint meeting of the Coalition Council and the National Coalition Executive Council.

In a press statement signed by party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, the coalition said the leaders ceased to be members of the Azimio Coalition Council and the National Coalition Executive Council due to their appointment to public office or joining competing political coalitions.

Those removed from the Coalition Council are Ali Hassan Joho, Sabina Chege, Abdi Noor Omar Farah and Junet Mohamed.

Others dropped from the National Coalition Executive Council include Wycliffe Oparanya, Adan Keynan, David Pkosing, Mishi Mboko, Abdul Haji, James Opiyo Wandayi, Isabella Wangechi Githinji, Caroline Wanjiru Karugu and Solomon Kuria.

The coalition further resolved to terminate the appointment of Junet Mohamed as the Leader of the Azimio Coalition Parliamentary Group in the National Assembly with immediate effect.

Azimio has appointed Caroli Omondi as the new Leader of the Azimio Coalition Parliamentary Group in the National Assembly.

The party said replacements for the affected positions will be announced soon as part of the expanded coalition structure.
