Kitui South Member of Parliament Rachael Nyamai has joined leaders from Kitui and Machakos counties in a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening politics, leadership, and development across the wider Ukambani region.
During the meeting, the leaders emphasized the importance of unity and coordinated planning to accelerate key development projects that will benefit residents across the region.
Among the key issues discussed were the progress of ongoing tarmac road projects, the completion of pending modern markets, and the rollout of affordable housing initiatives expected to boost economic opportunities and improve living standards.
The leaders also highlighted the long-awaited establishment of a Railway Training Institute in Ikanga, a project that has now reportedly been picked up by the Presidency for implementation. Once operational, the institute is expected to create training opportunities for young people and support skills development in the transport and railway sector.
Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Nyamai reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that development projects in Kitui South and the wider Ukambani region are fast-tracked, noting that collaboration among leaders is key to delivering tangible benefits to the people.
The leaders agreed to continue engaging both county and national government institutions to ensure that the discussed projects are implemented efficiently and within the shortest time possible.
