Kitui East prominent youth leader Sammy Mutea on Sunday held a high-level consultative meeting with Endau/Malalani MCA Hon. Erustus Mbuno following his return from an advanced governance and security training in North Africa.
The meeting, held in Kitui East, focused on strengthening governance structures in Kitui County and expanding opportunities for youth empowerment across the region. Mutea recently completed a specialised course on combating public theft and enhancing community security initiatives, which he says will inform his leadership and community engagement.

Sources close to the meeting revealed that the two leaders discussed ways to improve transparency and accountability in public service delivery, enhance grassroots governance, and promote inclusive development for young people.
Mutea, who has gained recognition for organizing youth football tournaments and mentorship programs in Kitui East, reiterated his commitment to championing youth inclusion in leadership and decision-making processes.
“We must ensure that young people are actively involved in shaping governance and development in Kitui East. The future belongs to them, and their voices must be heard,” Mutea said during the discussions.
Hon. Mbuno welcomed the engagement, stating that collaboration between elected leaders and youth-driven initiatives is essential in accelerating development within the county. He emphasized the need for partnerships that promote accountability, economic empowerment, and social cohesion.
The consultative meeting is viewed as part of broader efforts to strengthen leadership networks in Kitui East and foster dialogue on governance reforms aimed at improving service delivery and empowering the region’s growing youth population.
