Prominent Kitui East youth leader Sammy Mutea on Sunday held a consultative meeting with Endau/Malalani MCA Hon. Erustus Mbuno following his return from a high-level security and governance training in North Africa.

The meeting, which focused on Kitui County governance and youth empowerment, comes shortly after Mutea completed an advanced course on combating public theft and strengthening community security initiatives abroad.

According to sources close to the meeting, the two leaders held extensive discussions on improving governance structures at the grassroots level, enhancing transparency in public service delivery, and creating more opportunities for young people across Kitui East.

Mutea, who has recently gained popularity for organising youth football tournaments and mentorship programmes in the region, reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for youth inclusion in leadership and decision-making processes.

“We must ensure that young people are actively involved in shaping governance and development in Kitui East. The future belongs to them, and their voices must be heard,” Mutea said.

Hon. Erustus Mbuno welcomed the engagement, noting that collaboration between leaders and youth-driven initiatives is key to accelerating development in Kitui County. He emphasised the importance of partnerships that promote accountability, economic empowerment, and social cohesion.

The meeting is seen as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership networks and governance conversations in Kitui East, with a focus on empowering youth and enhancing service delivery at the county level.
