Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Ndingo has welcomed the resignation of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer, saying the move was long overdue.

Speaking on Wednesday evening during a talk show on Mwatu FM, Ndingo said Kenyans have lost confidence in the IEBC leadership and insisted that the outgoing CEO should have resigned earlier. He called on the electoral commission to immediately cancel all controversial tenders signed under the tenure of the resigned CEO, arguing that public trust in the commission must be restored ahead of future elections.

“The credibility of the IEBC is critical to democracy. Any questionable procurement processes must be reviewed and nullified,” Ndingo said.

During the same interview, the outspoken MCA urged Kenyans to rally behind Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, whom he described as the senior-most leader within the opposition ranks. Ndingo said Kalonzo remains the strongest opposition candidate capable of defeating President William Ruto in a free and fair election.

Responding to calls from listeners who urged him to mobilize leaders from the Ukambani region for unity talks ahead of the 2027 general election, Ndingo revealed that plans are already underway to convene a Kamba declaration summit. He said the proposed summit would bring together regional leaders, with Kalonzo Musyoka expected to be the chief guest.

Ndingo emphasized that unity in Ukambani would be key in shaping the region’s political direction ahead of the next general election.
