Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has lauded the role of culture in fostering national unity after attending the colourful Ngemi Cia Watho cultural event held on Wednesday evening at the Thika Greens Golf Club.

In a statement, Kalonzo said it was a pleasure to join the event alongside Second Deputy President Hon. Rigathi Gachagua and Speaker Emeritus Hon. JB Muturi, describing the gathering as a true reflection of Kenya’s rich cultural diversity.

The event, organized by members of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) drawn from the Gikuyu, Embu, Meru and Akamba (GEMA) communities, was hailed as a practical demonstration of Article 11 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, which recognizes culture as the foundation of the nation and the cumulative civilization of the Kenyan people.

Kalonzo emphasized that celebrating culture should be encouraged as it promotes dialogue, mutual understanding and national cohesion, while also showcasing Kenya’s vast cultural wealth.

He was accompanied to the event by Kitui County Woman Representative Hon. Irene Kasalu, Matungulu MP Hon. Stephen Mule, Embakasi South MP Hon. Julius Mawathe, Advocate Ndegwa Njiru, and Advocate Eunice Lumallas.

The Ngemi Cia Watho event brought together leaders, professionals and cultural enthusiasts, reaffirming the importance of cultural heritage in strengthening unity and peaceful coexistence among Kenyan communities.
