Kitui South MP Hon. Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai on Wednesday conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction works on the Ikutha–Kanziku–Mutha Road, a project that has been eagerly awaited by residents for years. Her visit comes just a day before the official launch by His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, scheduled for Thursday, 13th November 2025.
During the inspection, Dr. Kaki Nyamai expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of the works, noting that the project is on track and aligns with the region’s broader development agenda. She highlighted that once completed, the road will significantly improve transport efficiency, reduce travel time, and enhance access to essential services across Kitui South.
The legislator emphasized that the Ikutha–Kanziku–Mutha corridor is a vital economic artery that will boost local trade, support agricultural activities, and attract new investments to the region. By connecting key market centers, the road is expected to open up opportunities for farmers, small businesses, and youth enterprises.
In her remarks, Dr. Kaki Nyamai welcomed President Ruto’s scheduled visit, stating that the Head of State’s presence reflects the national government’s commitment to uplifting remote and underdeveloped areas. She commended the collaboration between the national and county governments in accelerating transformative infrastructure projects in Kitui County.
“As Kitui South, we are honored to host President Ruto for this landmark event,” she said. “The launch of the Ikutha–Kanziku–Mutha Road marks a new chapter of growth, prosperity, and connectivity for our people. Karibu sana, Mr. President!”
