The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has rolled out a voter registration exercise in Kwa Vonza/Yatta Ward, Kitui Rural Constituency, aimed at boosting voter turnout ahead of upcoming elections.
According to the official schedule for Week 1 (Kit No. 002), the exercise will run from March 30 to April 1, 2026, with registration centers set up at key local venues.
Registration Schedule:
Monday, March 30, 2026: Kwa Vonza Primary/Market (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Tuesday, March 31, 2026: Kwa Vonza Primary/Market (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Wednesday, April 1, 2026: Nyumbani Village/Primary/Market (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
IEBC has emphasized that all applicants must appear in person and present either an original national ID or a valid Kenyan passport for biometric registration.
The exercise, signed and dated March 24, 2026, is part of a wider national campaign to encourage eligible citizens to register as voters.
Kwa Vonza/Yatta Ward MCA Hon. Mark Ndingo has urged residents to take advantage of the exercise, rallying them with the message: “Niko Kadi! Je, Uko Kadi?”—a call encouraging citizens to secure their voter cards.
The voter registration drive is expected to enhance civic participation in the region, with residents encouraged to turn up in large numbers and register.
