The leader of the National Liberal Party, Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, has been appointed the Regional Vice Chair for Africa in the International Association of Liberal Parties (IALP), marking a significant milestone for the party and liberal political movements in the region.

In a statement following his appointment, Dr. Muli expressed gratitude to the leadership of the global liberal organization for entrusting him with the role.

“I sincerely thank the leadership of the International Association of Liberal Parties for the confidence and trust placed in me following my appointment as Regional Vice Chair for Africa. It is a great honour to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with colleagues to strengthen liberal democratic values, cooperation, and progress across the African continent,” he said.

The appointment places Dr. Muli in a key leadership position within the international liberal network, where he will help coordinate and promote liberal democratic ideals, political cooperation, and policy dialogue among member parties across Africa.

Political observers say the new role could enhance the visibility of the National Liberal Party within global political networks as the party continues to position itself ahead of Kenya’s 2027 General Election.

Dr. Muli has been actively building the party’s structures across the country, with the National Liberal Party recently announcing plans to field candidates for various elective positions including Members of County Assembly, Members of Parliament, Senators, Women Representatives, and Governors. 🌍🗳️

His appointment is expected to strengthen collaboration between African liberal parties and international partners in advancing democratic governance, economic freedom, and political inclusivity across the continent.
