KSh 47 Million Bursary Boost for 13,000 Kitui South Students
Rachael Kaki Nyamai, Member of Parliament for Kitui South Constituency, today disbursed bursary cheques worth KSh 47 million to 13,000 beneficiaries in a major effort to enhance access to education across the region.
Speaking during the disbursement exercise, the legislator emphasized the need for harmonization of all bursary programs issued by the national government, proposing their consolidation into a unified framework to better support the realization of free education in Kenya. She noted that a coordinated approach would ensure equitable distribution of resources and ease the financial burden on parents.
Hon. Kaki also appealed to school heads to exercise patience and understanding with parents facing financial challenges. She urged principals to allow students to remain in school as families continue settling fees progressively, stressing that no learner should miss education due to financial constraints.
The event, held in Mutomo, was attended by the area Deputy County Commissioner and all principals from Kitui South secondary schools, demonstrating strong support from education stakeholders and local administration.
The bursary initiative is expected to significantly ease school fee pressures for thousands of families while reinforcing the constituency’s commitment to promoting education for all.
