The Speaker of the County Assembly of Kitui, Hon Kevin Kinengo, has expressed gratitude after being recognized as the Outstanding County Assembly Speaker of the Year in Legal Leadership and Youth Empowerment during the prestigious Jamhuri Kenya Leadership Awards 2026.
Speaking after receiving the award, Kinengo said he was deeply honored and humbled by the recognition, noting that this yearโs theme, โThe Man, The Strength Behind The Republic,โ reflects the importance of strong institutions, the rule of law, and servant leadership.
The Speaker dedicated the award to God, his family, Members of the County Assembly, and the people of Kitui County for their continued trust and support.
Kinengo praised MCAs in the County Assembly of Kitui for their cooperation and commitment towards strengthening the assembly and promoting effective governance.
โTo the people of Kitui County, you are the very reason we serve. Your trust continues to inspire and reinforce my commitment to transparent, accountable and people-centered governance,โ he stated.
The Speaker also congratulated Godfrey Muthengi Ndagara, the Deputy Majority Whip and MCA for Tharaka Ward, for being named Outstanding MCA of the Year in Cultural Leadership and Social Development.
He described the recognition as a reflection of Ndagaraโs dedicated service and contribution to the development of Tharaka Ward and Kitui County.
Kinengo further thanked the organizers of the awards led by Thuranira Kubai for recognizing leaders making a positive impact across the country.
He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting integrity, accountability, and youth empowerment while inspiring the next generation of leaders in Kitui County and Kenya at large.
