State House Director Musambi Nzengu has urged residents of Kitui Central to elect leaders based on proven service delivery and development records rather than political rhetoric and elitism.

Speaking during the burial of the late James Sino Wambua at Kalawa in Kyangwithya East Ward, Musambi said voters in Kitui Central have already rejected what he termed as โ€œboardroom candidatesโ€ who only emerge during campaign periods without a visible record of serving the people, the TCD digital reports

He maintained that leadership should be earned through action and tangible support to wananchi, insisting that every aspirant seeking elective office must clearly demonstrate what they have done for the community.

โ€œI have been preaching that everyone should show what they have done,โ€ Musambi said during the burial ceremony.

The State House Director further highlighted his education support initiatives, saying that since his appointment, he has facilitated opportunities for more than 1,889 students to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Kitui County.

According to Musambi, empowering young people through education and skills training remains one of the key ways leaders can transform communities and create economic opportunities for families.

His remarks come amid heightened political activity in Kitui County as leaders position themselves ahead of the next general election, with development records increasingly becoming a major point of debate among aspirants.
