Principal Secretary for Livestock Development Jonathan Mueke on Wednesday convened a meeting of the Agriculture and Rural Development Partners Group aimed at aligning sector programmes with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). The high-level meeting brought together key stakeholders to review ongoing initiatives and strengthen collaboration in advancing livestock development across the country.The forum provided an opportunity for partners to identify existing gaps within the sector and explore strategies for mobilizing resources to enhance impact, particularly in vulnerable regions. Mueke emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts in driving sustainable growth and resilience within the livestock value chain.Coming in the wake of a devastating drought, the PS expressed gratitude to development partners for their swift and effective emergency response, which helped cushion affected communities. Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe also attended the meeting, where he underscored the need for agile and well-coordinated approaches among partners to address emerging challenges such as climate shocks and global trade disruptions.
