Kasalu Meets University Students Under Her Scholarship, Criticizes Infrastructure Bill

Dr Irene Kasalu, the Woman Representative for Kitui County, on Friday, March 6, 2026, held a meeting with university students benefiting from her scholarship program at Marie Garden.

During the engagement, the Wiper patriotic front –Kenya legislator encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies and make the most of the opportunities provided through the scholarship initiative. She reiterated her commitment to continue supporting learners from the county to ensure they complete their education and build successful careers in the future.

After the meeting with the students, Dr. Kasalu visited Mulango Children’s Home, where she interacted with children and caregivers. She reaffirmed her dedication to supporting vulnerable children and ensuring they access education and other basic needs.

Speaking on national matters, the Woman Representative also weighed in on the controversial Infrastructure Bill recently approved by the National Assembly of Kenya. Dr. Kasalu said the bill is not good for the country, expressing concern over its potential impact and calling for careful reconsideration of policies that may not benefit ordinary citizens.

She maintained that leaders must always prioritize the welfare of Kenyans while making legislative decisions.
