A man in Kitui County is counting losses after he was allegedly drugged and robbed at a local entertainment joint by suspected “mchele babes” who are targeting unsuspecting patrons who have refused to zip their trousers.
According to reports, the victim had visited a club within Kitui town for a night out when he spotted a beautiful woman inside the establishment. Witnesses say he approached the woman hoping to enjoy her company and possibly spend the night together.
However, events took a dramatic turn shortly afterwards.

The man is believed to have been drugged through a drink, leaving him disoriented and unable to recall what happened during the rest of the night. By the time he regained full awareness, he found himself alone and without money or valuables.
Sources indicate the victim had been completely swindled, with his cash and other personal belongings missing. The woman he had approached was nowhere to be seen.
The incident has renewed concerns over the growing presence of “mchele” women gangs—criminal groups where individuals, often posing as friendly companions, spike drinks in clubs before robbing their victims.
Residents and nightlife patrons in Kitui Town are now being urged to remain vigilant while socializing in entertainment spots, especially when interacting with strangers.
Local authorities have also cautioned the public to avoid accepting drinks from unknown people and to closely monitor their beverages to prevent falling victim to such schemes.
“Take care where you drink and whom you trust,” a local source warned, adding that several victims of similar incidents often wake up with no memory of what transpired during the night.
