Residents of Muthue and Mutomo have a reason to smile after the long-awaited Phase II road improvement works officially commenced, marking a significant step in enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the region.
The project, spearheaded by area MCA Kyalo Muli in collaboration with the County Government of Kitui, aims to upgrade the road linking Muthue to Mutomo, easing transport for residents, traders, and motorists.
Speaking at the launch of the works, leaders lauded the initiative as a major development milestone that will boost trade, improve access to markets, and enhance mobility for local communities. The improved road is also expected to facilitate faster delivery of essential services, including health and education.
Area residents welcomed the development, noting that the road has long been in poor condition, especially during rainy seasons when transport becomes difficult. The upgrade is set to open up the region economically and improve livelihoods.
