Residents of Kitui East have a reason to smile following the completion of the Kinanie Water Borehole, a major milestone in improving access to clean and reliable water in the constituency. The project is expected to ease water shortages and improve livelihoods for households and livestock in the area.

At the same time, construction works on the Imumba Borehole commenced today, with the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency overseeing the drilling and installation. Once completed, the Imumba Borehole will further boost water supply to the surrounding communities, many of which have faced persistent water challenges.

Speaking after the developments, Kitui East Member of Parliament, Hon. Nimrod Mbai, expressed gratitude and relief, noting that the projects reflect answered prayers and renewed hope for his constituents. “God is great and my people have been remembered,” the MP said, emphasizing the importance of water as a basic need and a driver of development.

Hon. Mbai thanked the relevant authorities for their collaboration and commitment to delivering the projects, adding that his office will continue to work closely with stakeholders to ensure more water and development initiatives reach the people of Kitui East.

Residents have welcomed the progress, describing it as timely and transformative. Many called on leaders and development partners to sustain the momentum, saying it is indeed ni wakati wa kushukuru (a time to give thanks) as the long-awaited water solutions take shape.
