On January 10th 2026 – Kitui South Member of Parliament, Dr Racheal Nyamai attended a successful education empowerment program organized by Mutomo/Kibwea Ward MCA, Hon. David Munyau, in Mutomo town.
The well-attended event focused on motivating and supporting learners transitioning to senior secondary schools. In a major boost to education in the ward, MCA Munyau supported the top 15 students from each primary school joining senior schools with metallic boxes, benefiting over 300 students across the ward.
Speaking during the event, Dr Nyamai praised the initiative, noting that investing in education is investing in the future of the constituency and the nation at large. She further demonstrated her commitment to education by donating KSh 1 million to support the students’ school fees.
“I was happy to contribute to their future by donating KSh 1 million towards their school fees. I am proud to be part of initiatives that invest in our children’s education,” Dr Nyamai said.
Parents, teachers, and local leaders lauded the collaboration between the MP and the MCA, terming it a clear demonstration of servant leadership and a shared vision for empowering learners from Kitui South.
The education empowerment program underscores the growing commitment by leaders in Kitui South to improve access to education, ease the financial burden on parents, and motivate students to excel academically.
