MP Mulyungi Welcomes Ruto’s Pledge to Complete Enziu Bridge by February 2026
Mwingi Central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi has welcomed President William Ruto’s commitment to complete the long-stalled Enziu Bridge project by February 2026. The legislator expressed optimism that the renewed government pledge will finally bring to an end the delays that have hampered the critical infrastructure project.
According to MP Mulyungi, the Enziu Bridge construction has faced slow progress over the years, largely due to inadequate government funding. He emphasized that completion of the bridge will greatly improve safety and connectivity for residents, who have long endured difficulties crossing the Enziu River, especially during heavy rains.
The Enziu Bridge gained national attention following several tragic accidents caused by flooding in the area, prompting calls for urgent government intervention.
Mulyungi urged the national government to allocate sufficient funds to ensure timely completion of the project, saying the bridge will not only save lives but also open up economic opportunities for communities in Mwingi Central and surrounding regions.
