Several Kitui MCAs Seen as Safe Bets for 2027 Re-election
Several Members of the Kitui County Assembly are increasingly being viewed as strong favourites for re-election in the 2027 General Election, according to local political observers.
Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Ndingโo, Nzambani MCA Hon. MAMEN, Nguni MCA Hon. Jeremiah, Matinyani MCA Hon. Sylvester Kitheka, Ikanga Kyatune MCA Hon. Cyrus Musyoka, Kisasi MCA hon Mutemi and Mutha MCA Hon. Mwamisi are said to enjoy overwhelming grassroots support in their respective wards.
Analysts estimate their chances of retaining their seats at over 90 per cent, citing consistent engagement with voters, visibility on development issues, and strong political networks, the TCD digital media reports
The six MCAs have reportedly maintained close ties with residents through regular consultations, support for community projects, and vocal representation of ward interests in the County Assembly. Their performance record has helped neutralize early attempts by potential challengers to gain traction on the ground.
In contrast, the remaining MCAs in Kitui County are facing stiff competition back in their wards, with several aspirants already mobilising support ahead of 2027. Growing voter awareness and heightened political activity have made some wards highly competitive, putting incumbents under pressure to defend their records.
As the 2027 elections draw closer, political temperatures are expected to rise across the county, with early alignments and grassroots mobilisation likely to shape the final outcome in both safe and contested wards.
