Wambua Kananiโwho is also the CECM in charge of Disaster and Emergency Services in the countyโthe KRCS unveiled the Kenya Red Cross Strategic Plan 2026โ2030 and recognized its volunteers, honouring them for their commitment to serving the community and making a difference.
The strategy is a forward-looking roadmap anchored in disaster risk management, strong local capacities, efficient internal systems, enhanced resource mobilization, youth empowerment, and a robust humanitarian presence in Kenya and beyond.
This aligns well with Dr. Malombeโs belief in service to humanity and touching lives. In the recent past, Kitui County partnered with the Red Cross to train water divers in readiness for flooding whenever the area experiences above-normal rainfall.
