Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA, Hon. Ndingo, has opened up about the principles and practices that guide his approach to securing development for his ward. Speaking during a live discussion on Fair Distribution of Public Resources on MWATU FM on Friday morning, the MCA said transparency, community engagement, and strict oversight are at the center of his leadership style. He emphasized that meaningful development can only be achieved when leaders walk with the people and allow them to shape the direction of projects.

Ndingo revealed that he actively involves residents in project prioritization and identification to ensure that development reflects genuine community needs. He explained that his office conducts thorough public participation forums before any major project begins. According to him, these engagements help eliminate guesswork and keep leaders accountable to the people they serve.

The MCA further stated that he makes regular site visits to ongoing projects alongside relevant county officers to confirm that contractors adhere to the approved Bill of Quantities. This strict supervision, he noted, reduces cases of substandard work and ensures that taxpayers’ money is used effectively. He described his approach as hands-on and citizen-centered, a model he believes every leader should embrace.

Ndingo underscored his commitment to equitable development across the ward, saying his priority is to ensure every village receives its fair share of county projects. He maintained that equal distribution fosters unity and prevents neglect of smaller or remote villages. His goal, he said, is to create balanced progress that benefits all residents.

Addressing national-level resource allocation, the MCA challenged the national government to distribute resources fairly, arguing that all Kenyans pay taxes regardless of political affiliation. He urged national leaders to uphold equity and avoid selective allocation, saying current patterns suggest unfairness. Ndingo called on the government to treat every region equally, insisting that just distribution of resources is essential for national cohesion and development.
