The Anzauni Ndene Clan has officially opened its first-ever clan office in Kitui town, marking a historic milestone for one of the largest clans in Ukambani. The event was presided over by the clan’s patron, Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, who described the move as a major step toward strengthening unity, culture, and social support among clan members.Strategically located along the busy Kibwezi–Garissa highway, just a few meters from Kalundu market, the new office will serve as a central meeting point for clan members. Dr. Muli said the facility will also act as a resting place where members can stop over, refresh, and engage in discussions on community development and clan affairs.“The opening of this office is not just symbolic—it is a reminder that unity, identity, and shared purpose remain at the heart of the Anzauni people,” Dr. Muli noted during the launch. He urged members to utilize the office to promote peace, mentorship, and cultural heritage within and beyond Kitui County. With a population of slightly over 400,000 members, the Anzauni Clan is among the 22 major clans that make up the Akamba community. The clan plays a significant role in regional cohesion and leadership, often being at the forefront of community initiatives in Kitui and the greater Ukambani region. The current Clan Chairman, Mr. Philip Mulili, expressed optimism that the office will bring members closer together, while the Chairman of the Akamba Council of Elders, Mr. James Syengo, lauded the initiative as a model for other clans seeking to preserve traditional values in a modern world.
