Senator Hopeful Dr. Stephen Kimwele Mbaya Joins Malombe in Mourning Kwa Kamari Attack Victims

Kitui Senator aspirant Dr. Stephen Kimwele Mbaya on Saturday joined Kitui Governor Julius Malombe during the funeral service of seven people who were brutally killed in last weekendโ€™s attack at Kwa Kamari in Tseikuru Ward, Mwingi North Sub-County.

The emotional ceremony brought together political leaders, security officials, and residents as the county continued to mourn the victims of the deadly attack that has heightened security concerns in Kituiโ€™s border regions.

Governor Malombe conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the County Government of Kitui, assuring them that the county stands firmly with them during the difficult period of grief and mourning.

The governor said the county government would work closely with the National Government to strengthen security infrastructure in the affected areas and ensure residents are protected from future attacks.

He further assured mourners that authorities were committed to finding a lasting solution to the insecurity challenges affecting the region.Wiper Patriotic Front Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka also conveyed his condolences to the families through a phone call, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic deaths.

Kalonzo urged security agencies to move swiftly and ensure those behind the killings are brought to justice. He also appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid retaliation, emphasizing the need for peaceful coexistence between the affected communities.

Leaders present at the funeral echoed calls for increased security deployment and long-term peacebuilding efforts aimed at restoring stability and harmony in the region.Among those in attendance were Irene Kasalu, Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu, Tseikuru Deputy County Commissioner Anetta Mwangi, MCAs Kimanzi Muange (Tseikuru), Munyoki Mwinzi (Kyuso), and Alphonse Musyimi (Kyome/Thaana), alongside several County Executive Committee Members and senior county government officials.

The funeral service underscored growing calls for urgent interventions to address insecurity in Kituiโ€™s border areas as affected families continue to grapple with the painful loss of their loved ones.
