Kalonzo Musyoka was on Saturday joined by Kitui Central MP aspirant Stephen Kilonzo, popularly known as Kitundumo, during a high-profile political tour in Mombasa, where the Wiper Democratic Movement unveiled its gubernatorial candidate.
The event, held at the Nyali residence of Mohamed Ali, marked a significant moment for the party as it formally endorsed Ali as its candidate for the Mombasa governor seat on the Wiper Party (WPF) ticket.
Kitundumo, an emerging political figure in Kitui Central, was among key leaders accompanying Kalonzo and other opposition figures during the coastal tour aimed at strengthening alliances and consolidating support ahead of upcoming political contests.
Speaking during the unveiling, Kalonzo reaffirmed the opposition’s commitment to fielding strong candidates across the country, expressing confidence in Mohamed Ali’s leadership and popularity among Mombasa residents.
The gathering brought together a cross-section of leaders aligned to the united opposition, signaling a coordinated effort to expand Wiper’s influence beyond its traditional strongholds.
Kitundumo’s presence at the event underscores his growing role within Kalonzo’s political circle, as he continues to position himself as a key player in Kitui Central politics.
The Mombasa tour is part of a broader strategy by opposition leaders to engage grassroots supporters and popularize their candidates in different regions across the country.
