Wiper Patriotic Front leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday held a delegates’ meeting in Taita Taveta County, bringing together leaders and grassroots representatives from across the region in a renewed push to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The meeting, marked by high energy and growing optimism within Wiper ranks, highlighted what Kalonzo described as a rising wave of political realignment, as more leaders shift allegiance to the party.
Kalonzo welcomed the defections, terming them as bold and deliberate decisions by leaders seeking to align themselves with what he called “truth, justice, and accountable leadership.”
“This is a clear indication that the tide is turning. Kenyans are ready for a new direction,” he said.
He praised local party leadership led by Wundanyi MP Danson Mwashako and Voi MP Chombe Abdi for strengthening the party’s grassroots networks and mobilization efforts across Taita Taveta.
In a key highlight of his address, Kalonzo pledged to restore free primary school education if elected president in 2027, framing the promise as part of a broader commitment to ease the burden on Kenyan families and improve access to education.
“I will restore free primary school education when I become president in 2027,” he declared.
He also lauded residents of Taita Taveta for their continued support and resilience, describing them as critical players in Kenya’s democratic and governance journey. The TCD digital reports
Kalonzo urged unity among supporters, maintaining that the opposition remains focused on offering an alternative leadership vision under the rallying call “Komboa Kenya.”
