National Liberal Party (NLP) leader Hon. Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli has affirmed that the Ukambani region belongs to its people and not to any single political figure, emphasizing the need for democratic freedom and inclusive politics.

Speaking exclusively with TCD digital, Dr. Muli noted that democracy thrives where citizens are free to make independent choices without intimidation or coercion. He stressed that political competition should remain open and respectful, allowing diverse voices to shape the region’s future.

“Ukambani belongs to its people, not to any one individual. Democracy means freedom of choice, open competition, and respect for diverse voices,” he stated.

The NLP leader also reiterated his party’s commitment to peaceful coexistence with all political formations in the region, including the Wiper Democratic Movement. He said the party supports a political environment where wananchi can freely decide their preferred leadership and direction.

Dr. Muli added that NLP will continue to advocate for issue-based politics, unity, and development-focused leadership across Ukambani, urging leaders to prioritize the interests of the people over personal political dominance.
