On 12th,March -2026 -Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe hosted a delegation from UN Women, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for a courtesy call at the County Headquarters in Kitui.The delegation is in the county to discuss the outcomes of the Kenya Economic Empowerment of Women through Climate-Smart Agriculture (WEE-CSA) project and explore strategies to sustain the gains achieved following the completion of the four-year programme.The WEE-CSA project, which ran from 2020 to 2024, was implemented by UN Women in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization and supported by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and aimed to economically empower women through climate-smart agriculture by strengthening their participation in agricultural value chains, improving access to productive resources and enhancing climate-resilient livelihoods.Governor Malombe commended the partners for the successful implementation of the programme, noting that it made a significant contribution to empowering women farmers, improving household incomes and promoting sustainable agricultural practices across communities in Kitui County.
