A Mwingi-based activist has called for a new chapter of leadership in Mwingi Central, urging residents to embrace peaceful politics and development-oriented governance ahead of upcoming political contests.

In a statement shared with residents, the activist said the constituency needs “exceptional leadership” to restore its former glory and end what he described as a culture of insults and political goonism that has undermined unity in the area.

The activist endorsed CO Makau as a suitable candidate to lead the constituency, expressing confidence that Makau has the capacity to steer the region toward peace, stability, and economic progress.

According to the activist, residents are yearning for a return to the Mwingi of the past — a community known for love, peace, and unity — where visitors feel welcome and businesses can thrive without intimidation or division.

He also emphasized the need to revive the spirit of Ngura, describing it as a symbol of community cohesion and shared prosperity that once defined the social fabric of the constituency.

The activist called on residents to rally behind the movement aimed at transforming Mwingi Central, saying collective action and responsible leadership will help restore dignity, strengthen local businesses, and create a more conducive environment for development.

He concluded by urging the people of the constituency to support leaders who prioritize unity, respect, and progress for the benefit of the entire community.
