State House Director of Coordination Boniface Musambi was among Ukambani leaders who held talks with William Ruto at State House on Wednesday to discuss key development priorities for the region.
During the meeting, Musambi presented a development agenda aimed at accelerating infrastructure and economic growth in Kitui Central Constituency.
Among the proposals tabled was a request for a presidential visit to Kitui Central to commission completed projects and inspect ongoing development initiatives.
Musambi also called for the fast-tracking of the upgrading of the WikililyeโKatulaniโKavisuniโWote Road and the tarmacking of the Kwa NginduโMuseveโMiambaniโKamandioโMwingi Road, a 55-kilometre stretch expected to improve connectivity and boost local trade.
In addition, he proposed the construction of modern ESP markets in Wikililye and Kalundu to support small-scale traders and stimulate economic activity.
The State House official further advocated for the expansion of water projects and rural electrification across the constituency, particularly in lower Kyangwithya West Ward, to improve livelihoods.
Musambi also urged the national government to distribute food supplies to drought-stricken areas within Kitui Central and facilitate the issuance of more than 5,000 title deeds to residents, especially in Miambani Ward.
According to Musambi, the proposals are aimed at addressing key development gaps and improving service delivery for residents of Kitui Central.
The engagement reflects growing efforts by leaders from the region to lobby the national government for accelerated development and improved infrastructure.
