The Newly emerging Ukambani political heavyweight Hon. Vincent Musyoka Kawaya has lauded President William Ruto for his just concluded three-day development tour across the region, describing it as a historic turning point for Ukambani residents. Musyoka said that for the first time, citizens are witnessing deliberate, structured, and well-funded interventions aimed at transforming infrastructure, agriculture, and economic growth.

During the tour, President Ruto inspected ongoing projects and addressed multiple public gatherings before hosting a delegation of grassroots leaders from Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni counties. The Head of State outlined his comprehensive development blueprint for the region, pointing out that some of the major investments already underway include the Kikima–Kyambalasi Road, Mwala Cluster Water Project, the Tawa–Ngoluni–Itangini Road, several ESP markets, affordable housing units, and last-mile electricity expansion programs.

According to Hon. Kawaya, these initiatives mark a decisive shift from promises to tangible action. He noted that the government’s approach is not only to initiate but also to follow through on critical projects that have long stalled under previous regimes. “What we are witnessing is a results-driven government with timelines and commitments. The President is not just launching projects—he is ensuring they take off and get completed,” he said.

President Ruto, while addressing grassroots leaders at State Lodge Kitui, emphasized that every project launched must be completed within the stipulated contractual timeframe. Among those highlighted for strict implementation are the Kivandini–Miseleni Road in Mwala, Kangundo–Mwala Road, Emali–Ukia Road, and Zombe–Chuluni Road— all of which are expected to open up rural economies and ease movement of goods and people across Ukambani.

Hon. Kawaya further noted that the region is poised to benefit significantly from the government’s infrastructure-led development model. Roads, water projects, markets, and energy connections, he argued, will unlock agricultural potential, stimulate trade, and create employment opportunities for thousands of youth.

He also applauded President Ruto’s renewed message of political inclusivity, stating that development should never be tied to voting patterns. “The President has demonstrated that Ukambani will not be punished for political choices. Instead, we are being brought into the national development table, and that is leadership that unites rather than divides,” Musyoka added.

With billions already committed and more projects expected in the coming years, Hon. Kawaya assured residents that under President William Ruto, Ukambani will no longer be left behind on matters of national development. He reaffirmed that leaders from the region must now work together, regardless of political differences, to ensure that the ongoing transformation truly benefits the people.
