Mutula Kilonzo Jr., the Governor of Makueni County, has dismissed reports suggesting that the Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya could face deregistration for allegedly failing to meet legal requirements for political parties in the country.
Speaking in Mbooni on Sunday, Governor Mutula termed the reports as misleading and politically motivated. He stated that the party remains fully compliant with the law and continues to operate legally across the country.
The governor noted that the claims are part of political propaganda aimed at confusing Kenyans and weakening the party ahead of the 2027 General Election. He urged Kenyans to ignore the reports and remain focused on the party’s agenda.
Mutula also called on supporters of Kalonzo Musyoka to remain united, saying the party leader remains committed to offering alternative leadership for the country after the 2027 elections.
He emphasized that Wiper continues to have structures across Kenya and will play a key role in national politics moving forward.
