Residents of Kisasi Ward in Kitui Rural Subcounty are set to benefit from improved access to clean water after Julius Malombe today commissioned the Nzeeu Kavasya Ngiluni Sumpwell Water Supply Scheme.
The project, hosted by Kisasi MCA Nicholas Mutemi, was rehabilitated by the Kitui County Government as part of ongoing efforts to address water scarcity and improve livelihoods for residents.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony on Friday, March 13, 2026, Governor Malombe said the project reflects the county administrationโs commitment to expanding access to reliable water services across the county.
The rehabilitated water scheme is expected to significantly ease the burden of water shortages in the area, with a capacity to serve about 2,500 households per day.
Local leaders and residents welcomed the initiative, noting that reliable access to clean water will not only improve household welfare but also support farming and other economic activities.
The water project forms part of the county governmentโs broader strategy to enhance water infrastructure and fulfill the governorโs promise of increasing access to safe and dependable water services for residents across Kitui County.
