A Member of Parliament was reportedly blocked from accessing State House Nairobi during a high-level strategy meeting after security officials flagged unresolved integrity concerns and alleged misuse of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
According to sources familiar with the incident, the lawmaker had arrived at the venue expecting to attend the closed-door meeting involving senior government officials and selected leaders. However, the MP was allegedly denied entry following internal checks that raised questions regarding pending accountability issues linked to the management of constituency development funds.
Informers indicate that the concerns revolve around allegations of irregular expenditure and possible mismanagement of NG-CDF resources meant for development projects within the constituency.
Officials at the meeting reportedly maintained that participation in high-level government strategy sessions requires leaders to uphold strict integrity standards, especially when public funds are involved.
Efforts to obtain an official response from the MP and relevant authorities were still ongoing by the time of publishing.
The incident has sparked debate among political observers, with some arguing that the move signals increased scrutiny on the use of NG-CDF funds by elected leaders, while others view it as part of ongoing political realignments within the countryโs leadership circles.
