Latest Update :Thursday, 5th March 2026 – Most of the recently completed sand dams have harvested significant amounts of sand since the onset of the long rains(March to May).
Supported by Misereor, Caritas Kitui, through the Integrated Risk Reduction Project (IRRP), has worked with Kyome/Thaana ward Community to construct several sand dams and off take wells.
In pictures is an update of Kwa King’utu, Kyambiu, Kwa Julia, and Kwa Ngasya sand dams.
Kamumbuni Sump well is located in the upstream of Kamumbuni Sand dam, Kithyoko River in Kyusyani Sub Location.It has a Complete water system (Water Kiosk, Water trough and branding).
