The incoming Mwingi Central MP hopeful, John Makau Kimwele, on Sunday successfully hosted a well-attended fundraiser at Africa Inland Church Yuumbu in Mui Ward.
The event brought together congregants, local leaders, and residents who united in mobilizing resources aimed at completing the church building, constructing offices, and purchasing essential equipment, including a modern sound system. The fundraiser reflected strong community spirit, faith, and a shared commitment to development and service.
Speaking during the event, Kimwele emphasized the importance of faith and community empowerment.
“Serving the Lord must always be our first priority. When we give back to our communities, we honor God through action. Let us remain united in faith, generosity and service, building not only churches but also stronger, compassionate and empowered communities.”
He was accompanied by several leaders and prominent community members, including:
- Cornelius Muthami, MCA Mui Ward
- Kawaya, Former MCA Nuu Ward (2017–2022)
- Kiteme Munyambu, Former Mwingi parliamentary aspirant (2011 & 2017) and owner of Umoja Petrol Stations
- Musyoka Maiyu, Kamba vocalist
Other respected leaders and members of the Mwingi Central community were also in attendance.
